Ten points to become a person of unlimited self-esteem

Ten points to become a person of unlimited self-esteem

1. Chant to become a person of unlimited self-esteem

2. Chant to awaken to your own greatness

3. Chant to appreciate your life, including flaws, accomplishments, defeats, losses, and victories and truly appreciate all that makes you a unique and wonderful person...

4. Chant to make the impossible possible

5. Chant to consistently manifest your Buddha nature and rise above your basic tendencies and overcome your inherent negativities in your life

6. Believe that you are a Buddha and create all the benefits for yourself

7. Believe you are the Gohonzon

8. Trust that in the Gohonzon, you have the means to fulfill each and every desire to become extraordinarily happy

9. Chant to display your Buddhahood and to bring forth that strength, joy, vibrant life condition

10. And then take it to the world and change the environment

Hi there, thank you so much for posting this guidance by Danny. This guidance has certainly made the rounds. While I understand why the words would be made to be more inclusive and embrace men and women, I do think it's important to understand why it was originally focused on women. This guidance was given during a lecture for the women's division meeting in NYC and it was in response to all of the struggles that women were sharing during guidance. It was meant to encourage women in the trenches of the SGI, our communities, our homes, our workplace --often supporting and/or filling in for our partners, our families and everyone in between. Danny wanted women to take a step back from the "do list" to focus on self-esteem to attract the changes needed for a happier life.

I love this guidance and I come back to it again and again because it means so much to me that Danny saw that women were dealing with unique struggles that deserved acknowledgment. Danny showed a sensitivity that I don't always witness in society.

Yes, everyone should have high self-esteem, but more often than not, women are struggling against societal barriers that make self-esteem more elusive than for men.

Thanks for sharing!
